It was Leo Fender who founded the company Fender Company where the first bass guitar from the company was sold in 1954. However once the company was bought by corporate giant CBS in 1965, the quality of their guitars declined. This led to a group of previous employees buying back the company from CBS in 1985, making the company fall in the hands of musicians and artisans of quality world class guitars.

While keeping quality a priority, the Fender Custom shop was started in 1987, and since then the company has been producing quality Fender bass guitars that range from professional guitars to beginner guitars.
